Fugue

Fugue

fugue2fugue fugue3 An installation based on the manuscript of Great Grandmother Maroussia Zorokovich – the inspiration behind the feature I worked on with Daniel Edelstyn ‘How To Re-Establish A Vodka Empire.’ Part of the process of this film and building a community around its production was a series of events under the banner ‘Optimistic Immigrants.’ For this installment of Optimistic Immigrants we worked with East End Film Festival on an evening in the Vibe Bar. The installation took the words ‘A fugue composed of all the broken love songs in the world’ as a starting point and included found  broken instruments, lighting, sound and a video projection of a miniature Maroussia Zorokovich (played by me in the film) dancing on a loop on the manuscript paper.
Further imagery from the film, its making and associated events can be seen at https://www.flickr.com/photos/vodkaempire
