Cabinet

cabinet8As a sculptural, interactive experiment with the traditions, tricks and alchemy of etching and pop-up book construction this is a multimedia (adapted found material, film/photographic projection, paper architecture and etching) installation/exhibition  – a totemic filing cabinet structure containing a surreal archive of demolished buildings.  Audience peek into illuminated cabinets of curiosity –into peep hole/tunnel books and pop-up structures. All structures are aquatint and hard ground etched onto used office stationary (specifically hanging files) using salvaged roofing zinc and  inks made from London ground brick stocks – experimentation with creating images in direct collaboration with the materials of the demolition sites they depict.
First installed at the Print House, Stratford and then exhibited at Kaleid Editions 2013.
